Three new CPAs named to Hall of Fame
The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) has named three new members to the AICPA Business and Industry Hall of Fame. Arthur V. Neis, James W. Noyce, and Peggy Scott have been declared winners of the Ninth Annual Business and Industry Hall of Fame Awards. A panel of judges assembled by the AICPA elected the winners. Sponsored by staffing-services company Ajilon Finance, the Hall of Fame is an annually held event. The event honors certified public accountants (CPAs) who offer insight and vision to their organizations. The honor is for their abilities to recognize all facets of their enterprises and exhibit leadership, as well as for their commitment to their organizations and their assistance with meeting the challenges of dynamic market conditions.
IMA holds award program in memory of DePaul
The Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) Foundation for Applied Research (FAR) has created an award program in memory of Chicago-based CPA Gary Siegel. The award program was announced at IMA's 88th Annual Conference and Exposition recently held in Phoenix, AZ. Dr. Siegel was on IMA's Board of Trustees for the FAR from 2001 to 2002. He was the 2005 recipient of the R. Lee Brummet Award, one of the highest recognitions for an educator. He founded a not-for-profit community-service organization, the Jewish Burial Society. Dr. Siegel's study of change in the management-accounting profession helped increase the importance of management accountants in an environment influenced by digital technology.
