You can also meet the criteria for this job if you have at least four years of work experience as a public or private accountant, but you do need to have the detailed courses that will give you the knowledge and skills you need in this job.
Some of the specific knowledge you need for the position of Accounting Analyst 1 includes a working knowledge of accounting principles and methods and how to apply this knowledge to real life situations. You don’t need to have a detailed knowledge of data systems and design because you will get most of this training on the job. Knowledge of government accounting is also beneficial.

The interpretation of financial data is essential and you must prepare accurate statements of the data for your supervisors and the investors. This means you must not only have the analysis skills, but you also need to be able to use word processing and oral and written skills for the reports. Since you will be dealing with other accountants and supervisors, you must have excellent interpersonal skills in order to establish good working relationships. The salary for this job falls within the average range, but there is plenty of room for advancement.
