These are not just summer jobs. These are high paying professional positions. There are accounting jobs available in the federal civil service as well as other government positions and in the private sector. There are positions available such as Art directors seeking account manager professionals. Some positions available are the most highly coveted account manager jobs. Especially in California and other border states there are fluent Spanish speaking individuals needed now. With the advent of the internet you can do your job search online and have almost unlimited possibilities.

With the recent economic down turn, you might think that it will be difficult to find a job. This may be true for some positions but not for accountants. Whether you are a Certified Public Accountant, or just have a Bachelors Degree in accounting, there is a high demand for your services. With the demand high the pay is good.

An accounting degree is one of the most sought after and employable types of education. An accountant receives education in basic math, banking and finance, economic principles, tax and business law and many other areas. The ability to communicate with the public is of course helpful, and in states such as California, the ability to speak Spanish is very helpful. Whether you seek online for one of the most highly coveted account manager jobs, or want to help people with their income taxes, or want to help fill a position an art gallery, there are many different positions available.

An Art director might be seeking an account manager to manage all the finances of an entire museum. You would have to track the costs of the building and utilities, the employees, the acquisition of the art and items that will be on display, and be able to balance that with the income generated from grants and ticket sales to patrons. One of the largest expenses to the museum is the cost of the art pieces that are actually on display. Add to that the cost of the property, which is going to have to be in a prime down town location, in order to attract patrons, and the cost of the building, water, electricity, heating and air conditioning, and there is considerable expense incurred. Add to that the cost of the employees from the cashier selling tickets, to the tour guides, to the manager, to janitor, and the museum requires a great deal of income to stay in business. Some museums therefore rely on government grants, or on donations from philanthropists to stay in business. If they have to survive merely on ticket sales, they have to attract thousands of patrons, meaning the museum will be crowded and may be unpleasant to some. Or they have to charge very high ticket prices, which will keep some potential patrons away, and ultimately cost the museum money. It’s a delicate balancing act, to reach the goldilocks zone of just right ticket pricing, to attract the maximum amount of people at the highest price they will pay, to stay within the capacity of the museum to handle the flow of people, and generate revenue. All of these costs, expenses, and income need to be tracked and accounted for by an account manager. Accurate reporting is required to satisfy the museum management. It is a critical job, because without accurate accounting of expenses and income it is impossible to satisfy government agencies and ultimately the politicians and public tax payers that want to see where their grant money is going.

Many people hire an accountant to help them with their income taxes. If this person only speaks Spanish, or at least has it as their first language it would be helpful for the accountant to speak Spanish too. The most highly coveted jobs are in account managing, where instead of dealing with individuals, you are responsible for managing the accounts of large companies.

There are several ways to find these types of jobs, but probably the most effective is to search online. You could go to one of many sites that specialize in employment opportunities, or you can use a search engine and just type in key words for the type of job you are looking for, and many different sites will be made available to you.

You could go to an employment agency, but they will take a percentage of your earnings for a contracted specified period of time. The service provided by a professional employment agent might be well worth the price. If he or she is able to reach contacts you are not aware of, and through his or her experience and connections are able to find opportunities you might not have been able to find, they may land you a better position than you could have found on your own. This might result in you getting higher pay. If the cost of the employment agencies fee subtracted from your paycheck still leaves you with more than you would have been making had you found a job on your own, than you have profited as well as the employment agency. However it would be better still if you could find that same job, and that same pay, without their service, saving you their cut. Because they have the connections, and also the negotiating experience and confidence to negotiate for you the highest likely salary, you might still be better off using the agency. But it doesn’t hurt to try and see what you can find on your own. With the internet, the whole world of accounting is at your fingertips. You can also search newspapers, and state employment agencies for their advertisements for job openings. On the internet, in addition to doing a word search, you can check on line classified adds, and even check the websites of individual companies you might be interested in working for. Many of these websites list their employment opportunities and contact information.
