Principal Objectives:

The primary responsibility of this position is to oversee asset development within the Oncology Solid Tumors group and support operational aspects, analysis, budgeting, technical accounting, and forecasting of clinical trials. The selected individual will be responsible to manage R&D Portfolio expenses with direct responsibility for certain key in-line early and full development stage assets, including monthly and quarterly financial analysis of portfolio performance, and to achieve financial goals. Support of R&D collaborations, including management, analysis and reporting. Ability to identify risks and opportunities within portfolio and collaborations and elevate issues proactively, timely, and transparently. Understanding of and application of US GAAP and control requirements for R&D clinical portfolio expenses.

Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will partner with Development Leads, Operations Leads, Project Management, Protocol Managers and various other cross functional study support teams to provide estimates of study costs and manage study expenses through study life-cycle. Analyze and translate data into key strategic inputs. Lead improvements in systems and processes used to generate data for analysis. Contribute to creation of a high performance culture through effective leadership and communication with key stakeholders in the organization. Participate in development portfolio and cross-functional resource reviews. Support Business Development activities. Support and lead change that continuously adapts to a dynamic business environment. Support system and process updates and new systems implementations and post-merger integration.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting, CPA or MBA preferred.

Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in finance or accounting.

Strong financial and analytical skills as well as ability to continuously improve processes.

Strong working knowledge of clinical trial management and financial systems is preferred.

Exceptional interpersonal skills, effective communication skills, strong oral and written communications a must.

Understanding of company strategy, R&D processes, asset development as well as ability to learn within scientific field required.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter, highly motivated, customer focused and able to make decisions independently.

Collaboration experience, inside and outside of finance is desirable.

Experience working with multiple levels of management with competing demands on time and resources.
