The Role
The Staff Accountant conducts the daily and regular interval accounting activities including banking, general ledger and bank account reconciliations, and financial statements.
Key Responsibilities
• Reconcile/ review AR postings with daily bank activity
• Review and revise weekly report for postings with 30 days or more in unallocated, re-class from unallocated
• Give Collection Analysts support finding backups for old unallocated entries
• Review lockbox receipts and deposit all checks received and provide allocations when necessary
• Provide AP with daily wage works and HSA posting reports from bank line
• Provide AP with Partner and Staff expenses when debited
• Provide monthly bank service charges back up and ensure posting on 3E
• Issue trust wires and checks for trust funds received and respond to trust inquires
• Backup for daily cash receipts reports
• Weekly bank and trust bank reconciliations, and reconciliation review
• Reconcile all operating Clyde & Co US bank accounts
• Prepaid reconciliation
• Make any journal entries needed before month end
• Straight line rent entry
• Fixed assets reconciliation
• Scan and upload reconciliations, plus all month end journals
Education
•Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
•Knowledge of 3E and/or Enterprise software helpful, but not required
•Self-directed individual that knows what needs to be done and operates with a sense of urgency, focus and
discipline
•Proven ability to exercise good judgment, be highly organized, show initiative and be proactive
•Excellent written and oral communication skills with extreme comfort in interacting with internal and external
stakeholders; ability to work at all levels within the organization with confidence and establish credibility
•Ability to manage and prioritize tasks, with excellent time management skills to complete projects in a timely
fashion
•Willingness to take initiative to problem solve and critical thinking skills (think outside the box)
•Must be career oriented and have strong work ethic
•Must be a team player and have interpersonal skills
•Proficient with Microsoft Office Excel and Word
•Above all, possess the highest standards of ethics and confidentiality to handle sensitive information.
Experience
•3-5 years of experience in a relevant position
•Prior law firm experience is strongly preferred
