SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for acquiring, analyzing, communicating and acting upon quantitative data and qualitative information generated in Tyson's Purchasing, Operations, and Accounting business processes. This position will support various sourcing stakeholders within the Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) function and is vital to the company's profitability and how well Tyson allocates expenditures on capital projects and day to day operations.
Other responsibilities include: assembling and facilitating quarterly budget guidance, providing competitive analysis, risk analysis, financial impacts evaluations for various business units, and developing presentations for the various business units throughout the enterprise. This position is also responsible for spend analysis reporting related to all assigned Purchasing Projects and insuring that historical spend reports are complete and accurate.
This position requires a high level of independent and critical thinking, the ability to function with various business groups, and correctly interpret statistical information to support the purchasing business unit in strategic decision making in alignment with department and company goals.
Position will ensure all spend reporting timelines from various stakeholders are met; complete in-depth analysis on reports and interpret results; create and coordinate the tracking and compiling of key purchasing metrics and spend research for accurate identification of categories of spend being addressed as well as detailed qualitative and quantitative analysis of bid responses.
Will be key participant on inter and intra-departmental cross functional teams to develop reporting capabilities from raw ERP system data from multiple systems and sources.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or other equivalent Mathematical focused educational program. Master's Degree preferred.
Experience: 3 years' experience in IT, business analytics, purchasing analytics; knowledge of relational database management systems to include maintenance of tables and relationships as well as building queries; knowledge of SAP reporting; advanced comprehension of specialized Tyson applications required.
Computer Skills: Advanced computer skills required especially in Excel and Access. Knowledge of pivot tables, advanced formula and query development and database management; advance understanding of data warehousing, querying and reporting functions; ABAP Query, SQL, VBA queries, Tyson Fresh Meats/ Legacy Systems preferred.
Special Skills: Requires use of advance mathematical formulas and calculations to analyze complex financial and/or statistical information. Requires in-depth skills in a specific area; serve as training and troubleshooting resource within specialty area. Accuracy, intuitiveness, knowledge of financial and accounting principles are required; advanced project management. This position will require the utilization of Continuous Improvement principals and skills to create and lead a continuous improvement culture within the P2P team and will require willingness to achieve Tyson Green Belt status.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to handle all situations in a professional manner. Public speaking required.
Supervisory: Proven, effective team building and leadership skills including problem solving. Position will train and influence other team members of all levels.
Travel: 1-5 domestic trips per year.
