Job Summary
This position is part of the Comcast Corporate Accounting and Reporting department and will be a critical role responsible for supporting Comcast's Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) reporting, specifically climate reporting. Responsible for serving as the Accounting and Reporting department's technical accounting subject matter expert with respect to ESG related accounting matters including climate sustainability reporting. This role will help ensure Comcast is responsive to growing expectations among stakeholders and regulators in ESG reporting including the newly released SEC climate change proposed rule.
Job Description
Core Responsibilities
Research and evaluate technical ESG accounting issues impacting the Company to ensure the proper application US GAAP and/or environmental sustainability accounting standards (e.g. GHG Protocol)
Communicates and documents effective accounting evaluations and to provide executive summaries of accounting evaluations to various audiences.
Support the company's sustainability reporting and coordinating with the environmental sustainability teams.
Lead the resolution of ESG accounting matters while coordinating with the Technical Accounting/SEC/External Reporting group.
Help support work, as needed, for the implementation of the new SEC proposed climate rule including the implementation of or changes to accounting processes and internal controls.
Act as a liaison with our external auditors with respect to our climate sustainability accounting and reporting.
Liaise with various other departments including but not limited to Corporate Sustainability, Corporate FP&A, External Reporting, and Divisional Finance teams.
Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent; CPA a plus
Generally requires 7-10 years related experience; minimum of 10 years practical experience in accounting;
Strong communication, organizational and analytical skills
Self-starter with the ability to work on multiple concurrent tasks
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills
