What’s the role?

Commercial Operations is currently seeking a Commercial Operator, to join our Commercial Operations Crude Team. This team is responsible for managing the physical delivery of Shell’s domestic and international movements for crude. The team of Commercial Operators work within the Crude Oil North America Trading Teams (e.g. Off-shore, On-shore, and Lease), to optimize overall profitability through their commercial acumen and expertise in blending, scheduling and refinery operations. In delivering its value to the Shell organization, the team engages with the many internal and external customers in the crude supply chain.

Shell seeks to attract a Commercial Operator with strong technical, analytical, and commercial skills. Demonstrated teamwork, resilience and ability to collaborate well with other team members, groups and businesses is key. This is a complex and dynamic part of the trading business and, as such, this is a high profile and demanding role suitable for a highly motivated candidate.

A successful candidate who establishes themselves as a high performing Commercial Operator and demonstrates high capacity will have the potential to transition into a Trader Development role.

Requirements:

What we need from you

Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain or Engineering. MBA preferred.

Minimum three (3) years of work experience preferably within a large Oil and Gas, Midstream or Trading Organization.

Experience leading commercial deals, cost savings initiatives or sourcing initiatives.

Advanced Excel. (Macros/Solver/Database Management)

Possess knowledge in crude measurement / API standards, HSSE and crude operations.

Strong technical, numeracy, analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills to recognize and solve problems quickly.

Team player and high inter-personal skills capable of developing and maintaining strong internal, external and virtual relationships

Lead or support the month end process for reporting production volumes and inventories in systems and for group to reconcile gaps.

Knowledge of Endur and QlikView is a plus
