Goulston & Storrs is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to be responsible for major aspects of financial modeling and analysis relating to the key metrics in a professional services environment. The Senior Financial Analyst should understand general accounting and the transactions that impact key financial issues, possess strong analytical skills, the ability to explain complex data concisely, and the areas of concern and actions required to meet financial commitments and improve on processes. Integral to this role is an expert understanding of Microsoft Excel, Aderant financial database and report-writer tools and their application to produce accurate, timely, and relevant information for decision-making. The Senior Financial Analyst will be visible within the firm, requiring interactions with attorneys, senior managers, and staff. An assertive mindset combined with an ability to work autonomously is essential to this role.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Job Responsibilities:
In-depth analysis, reporting, and communication of the firm’s key metrics
Assist with compensation reporting and analysis
Develop standard financials and support requests for analysis, including insightful presentation to senior management
Assist with peer analytics and improvements to mapping of Peer software, and incorporate peer data with firm key metrics for additional insight
Expertise in report building and data governance of data warehouse to support complex reporting
Revenue modeling support during annual and quarterly process
Assist with development and transition of reports to SSRS and Anaplan
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications include:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance, CPA and/or MBA preferred
7 years of finance/accounting experience including financial modeling, forecasting and budgeting, general business analysis
Proven analytical skills; strong ability to work with large amounts of data
Self motivator, problem-solving skills, ability to prioritize work
Strong oral and written communication skills to senior management level
Expert Excel skills, knowledge/experience of Data Warehouse Environment and Financial Reporting Tools
Understanding of SQL Server commands and ability to access data tables for report writing a plus
