Position Summary
This teammate is a key member of the Internal Audit team and will report to the Senior Internal Audit Manager. They will support in the execution of the annual audit plan as well as support in Sarbanes Oxley compliance/testing activities. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic along with strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills. Additional key qualities include the ability to work with others to drive results. This position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills spanning across all levels of management. Candidates must thrive in a demanding, fast-paced work environment that is energetic, driven, and team-oriented.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Support in audits and reviews including assessing risks; evaluating internal control design and effectiveness; documenting and assessing processes and procedures; and performing fieldwork, testing and data analysis.
Assist in all phases of the audit process including planning, fieldwork, closeout, report writing, wrap-up and follow-up with management supervision.
Prepare work papers and reports with a high level of technical accuracy, grammatical accuracy, and structure and within agreed upon timelines
Maintain positive working relationships and coordinate work with internal business teams, external auditors, internal control compliance groups, corporate security, and other groups, as appropriate
Assist with other IA projects such as the annual risk assessment, continuous monitoring, special projects/investigations, and the Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance program
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
Understanding of current auditing standards, Sarbanes-Oxley, and COSO 2013 guidelines
Knowledge of operational, and business processes
Experience supporting internal audit findings and/or operational risk assessments.
Familiarity with common technology, project management and control assessment frameworks
Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with the ability to clearly communicate thoughts appropriately to key stakeholders/clients
Interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively on a team
Ability to partner with cross-functional and regional management teams as well as external audit
Education And / Or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, economics, or related field
A minimum of 1 to 2 years’ experience related to internal / external audit or internal controls.
Other Requirements
ERP systems (preferably SAP and/or other financial application
CPA or CIA preferred
Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Global Headquarters in Baltimore, MD.
Return To Work Designation : 2 days a week in-office, the remainder of work week remote.
Travel: 20%, including both domestic and international
