Description

The Pharmacy Rebates Accountant 2 performs general accounting activities of rebates receivable accounts. Performs invoice payment reconciliation for Humana's rebate contracts with pharmaceutical manufacturers. Conducts or assists in the documentation of accounting projects, including system upgrades. This role works on payment analysis for complex and diverse rebate contracts, which includes collaboration with Humana's internal Pharmacy Trade, Treasury and Finance teams.

Responsibilities

The Pharmacy Rebates Accountant 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.

Analyzes, collates and reconciles drug manufacturer payment data to invoiced rebates

Uploads payment data into Oracle Rebates system and performs validation queries

Displays a strong curiosity for researching manufacturer payment exclusions to validate alignment with contract terms

Monitors aging status and performs follow up with external drug manufacturer contacts

Assist in preparing manufacturer exclusions data reporting

Collaborates with Humana's internal Pharmacy Trade and Treasury teams

Manages joint rebate administration email account to electronically file manufacturer correspondence and route email requests as needed

Assists with validation testing for system upgrades and projects

Maintain documentation of processes and procedures

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in a business related field

Minimum 2 years' experience, which can include internship experience

Excel proficiency and ability to gather, consolidate and analyze financial data

Passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications

Accounts receivable or transaction related experience

Experience using queries in SQL, Access or accounting software
