Position Responsibilities:Ensure compliance with company and legal environmental, health and safety (EHS) requirements utilizing company policies, procedures, programs, Code of Conduct, Federal, state and local regulatory requirements as a framework. The position is responsible for managing regional health & safety activities including audits, reviews and the monitoring of compliance programs as well as interfacing with key client organizations and regulatory agencies on behalf of the corporation. Monitors changes to health & safety laws and regulations and their impact to the organization, including the preparation, maintenance and update of health & safety policy and procedure manuals. Responsible for travelling as needed to ensure adequate field -oversight, meet with clients and peer organizations and to conduct safety audits as needed.Required Skills & ExperienceAdvanced skills to perform complex work and evaluate compliance of safety and health regulations. Requires independent and strategic thinking; demands full use and application of principles, theories, concepts and technologies. Ability to develop comprehensive and effective training programs to promote compliance with safety regulations including the preparation, maintenance and update of EHS policy and procedure manuals. Generally requires a BS degree and a minimum of 8 years experience in a related discipline or 4-7 years of experience or project management or equivalent with compliance oversight experience a plus. Should have safety implementation and over sight experience, with proven field experience and regulatory knowledge interaction. Excellent knowledge of health and safety working principles and requirements. Preference will be given to individuals with professional endorsements such as CSP or CIH and/or health and safety experience in telecommunications outside plant environment. Results driven, detail oriented, able to anticipate needs and issues and proactively identify appropriate solutions. Strong ability to work independently and multi-task with the ability to maintain confidential information. Possess excellent computing skills (Microsoft Office suite). Knowledge and SkillsRequires a range of skills within a professional discipline including familiarity with principles, theories, concepts and technologies as well as applied knowledge of established procedures, policies and practices.Education and ExperienceBachelors degree in occupational health & safety, environmental sciences or related field. Generally requires minimum of 4 yrs. experience in safety & health or a related discipline.
