This role provides accounting and financial analysis support to the Corporate Staff Finance lead. This role will support the teams respective Cost Center COE organizations (Corporate Staff, WW Commercial Functions, Facilities) on numerous accounting and finance initiatives, including those that improve upon our general financial/accounting analyses and processes.
Position requires a very motivated, self-starter with a diverse accounting background that is capable of working with every level of management.
Occasional travel within NJ and to Tampa, FL may be required
Supporting Corporate Staff, Facilities and Commercial Functions Accounting
Act as subject matter expert for all accounting matters related to the supported businesses and projects, including:
Partnering with Technical Accounting on new business intiaitives that require accounting expertise
Compiling analyses to review and support initiatives to improve policies and tighten controls
Support multiple projects requiring technical accounting and operations support
Partner with COE team(s) to identify accounting policies and processes that affect each operating group/department; identify gaps and/or ways to improve our processes; develop closing checklists; help team to document processes more efficiently
As designee, reviews and approves day-to-day operations of various accounting process for the team, including: RAR validations and approvals, asset attestations, completing contract reviews, etc.
Assist in the review and transfer of fixed assets on Celgene ledgers impacting Corporate Staff and Above Market Commercial Functions
Take lead on any accounting issues that arise; partner with Business Controls team to ensure a yearly schedule and plan is followed; follow-up and ensure delivery of audit recommendations
Drive Select Corporate Reporting Initiatives
Develop, track and analyze various metrics to report, monitor and measure Corporate Staff and Facilities critical account and balance sheet items
Develop and own a recurring process to drive reporting and analysis of Corporate Staff legal entity expenses in an effort to improve the accuracy of forecasting legal entity profitability. Partner with owners throughout tax and Global Financial Services in support of projects and legal entity reporting initiatives on corporate staff
Financial Analysis
Own reporting and analysis of Corporate Staff headcount for all close and forecast cycles. Partner with headcount reporting team and CFA on all analyses.
Assist in the compilation of reports and financial results to support a wide range of various analysis activities
Desired Experience:
CPA required
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
An experienced leader with a minimum of 7 years diversified experience in accounting and/or finance
Strong accounting, financial and analytical skills
Demonstrated business partnering
Proven track record of successful collaboration working on various projects and initiatives in a matrix environment that compete for demands on time and resources
Strong oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal skills are vital to interact and influence with different business partners.
Very high level of proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint required
Solid understanding of US GAAP, corporate accounting policies and the financial control environment
