Job Description:
The Operations Inventory Analyst is responsible for financial recording and tracking of the physical movement of crude from the point of origin to its destination, in support of crude trading business. The team ensures that each movement is captured in our systems correctly and on time. Duties include resolving any volumetric discrepancies with counterparties, managing losses/preventing profit leakage, and reporting/analysis on all aspects of any crude movement in our remit.
Dimensions:
Verify and record all oil movements in a designated region. Gather necessary data from external counterparties (customers, trucking companies) and perform scrubbing and validations before entering the data into payment system. Work closely with commercial to ensure that volume is booked as the trader intends while preventing profit leakage.
Drive investigation into any product loss outside of tolerance and track loss issues to resolution. Prepare loss analysis for monthly presentation to traders and ops leadership.
Respond to ad hoc analysis requests from stakeholders (traders, external counterparties, other operations teams).
Work closely with other teams to research and resolve any settlement issues and ensure that payments are on time and correct.
Work with the financial closing team to ensure that inventory is reported correctly.
Research volume discrepancies which can have complex root causes involving physical/operational events, IT system errors, and accounting issues.
Maintain and enhance reports and tools used by the team. (VBA, QlikView, Salesforce)

Requirements:
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or any related field required.
Minimum of three (3) years’ experience preferably in Trading and Commodity.
Experience as a Business Analyst would be a plus.
Advance or Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills required.
Experience with report building tools (e.g. Qlikview/Tableau/Spotfire), task automation (e.g. with VBA), and/or Salesforce would be a great plus.
Strong technical skills and curiosity are required to learn our systems.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and challenging deadlines.
Commercial mindset and focus on the bottom line.
The successful candidate should have effective interpersonal skills and be confident collaborating with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
