Humana's Mid Atlantic region has P&L responsibility for Humana's Medicare Advantage business across four states and Washington DC, and is one of Humana's largest regions. Regional leadership is seeking a Market Finance and Strategy Lead to conduct data driven analysis and problem solving to address key opportunities, priorities, and challenges across the region. This experienced leader will serve as in a multifaceted role, playing an integral part in supporting the development, analysis and execution of financial, strategic, and operational priorities, including annual bid development, analysis of financial, clinical, and operational performance, budget development and oversight, monthly close activities, and the development of enhanced reporting and analytics capabilities. The role will also have the opportunity to lead, guide, and mentor a high performing team of associates in delivering upon these responsibilities.
The role will interface regularly with leaders across the region and with key stakeholders across the enterprise, which may include Actuary, MRA, Corporate Finance, Provider Engagement, Clinical, and Sales, and externally with providers, to drive operational and financial performance and execution. The role affords multifaceted exposure to the key operational dimensions of the region, and positions the professional for meaningful learning, development, and continued advancement within the region and the enterprise.
Key responsibilities include:
Lead and oversee analysis and reporting on market data and trends to connect financial and clinical outcomes with operational effectiveness
Lead financial analysis supporting annual bids/product development and financial planning
Oversee the development of enhanced reporting and analytics capabilities
Support analytics/analysis evaluating new potential clinical and operational improvement opportunities
Manage the annual budgeting process and serve as a subject matter expert
Lead and manage special projects addressing high priority regional financial and operational priorities
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
8 years of finance related experience, with knowledge of accounting and financial transactions for internal/external reporting
Strong quantitative and data analytics capabilities
Strong attention to detail
Ability to lead and manage special projects that require cross functional stakeholder collaboration
Proven ability to manage, develop, and mentor high performing teams
Comprehensive working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree in business or quantitative focused discipline
Certified Public Accountant
Proficiency in SQL and PowerBI
Knowledge of Humana's systems, including EDW, Service Fund, etc.
