Global Internal Audit & Assurance (GIA) is viewed within BMS as a source of key diverse organizational talent, with alumni holding various roles, including leadership positions in business operations. In this role, the Manager Data Analytics will support the Director of GIA Data Analytics in the developing and executing GIA’s data analytics mission, vision, and strategy for the department. This role be supported by at least one Senior Data Analytics Analyst.
The Manager Data Analytics will work in a highly matrixed team environment to deliver innovative and actionable analyses that enable GIA to successfully leverage the power of digital technologies to help drive the execution of dynamic risk-based audits. In addition, the Manager Data Analytics will work closely with BMS Information Technology (IT), BMS Business Insights & Analytics (BIA), and other stakeholders to deliver the above innovations while maintaining and enhancing existing digital capabilities.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute the GIA annual digital strategy, in collaboration with key stakeholders, as approved by the Chief Audit Officer and Director.
Collaborate with GIA to support ongoing refinement of existing digital capabilities (e.g., Tableau®) by reducing false positive results, incorporating value added feedback from key stakeholders, and rationalizing capabilities when no longer adding value to maintain strategic focus.
Effectively communicate and champion the value of GIA’s digital capabilities to the department at all levels.
Enhance current data analytic key performance indicators (KPIs).
Understand business controls, processes, and enterprise risks to ensure digital capabilities add value to GIA.
Stay abreast of new and emerging digital capabilities and trends both internal to BMS and external and drive access to these capabilities, where possible.
Oversee user acceptance testing (UAT) during all phases of the digital capabilities lifecycle and user access reviews (UARs).
Coach and supervise at least one Senior Data Analytics Analyst to increase their knowledge and skills in digital capabilities; serve as a mentor for career development.
Develop and execute training to provide digital upskilling to members of GIA, ensuring they have an understanding of how to leverage existing digital capabilities.
Provide support for and deliver ad-hoc digital capabilities to GIA, as needed.
May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
A BA/BS degree in Accounting, Business Analytics, Data Science, Finance, or other business/information technology discipline is required. MBA or other advanced degree is preferred.
A minimum of 7 to 10 years combined experience in public accounting, internal audit experience, risk management or data analytics (with at least 2 years in data analytics), is required. Experience with a Big Four firm is preferred.
Analytical and computer skills, including proficiency with Excel/Word/PowerPoint, and data analytics experience (specifically with visualization tools such as Tableau®) and ERPs, such as SAP HANA, are required.
Professional certification is strongly preferred (i.e., CPA, CA, CIA, CISA or equivalent).
Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and IIA standards preferred
English fluency is required.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
Position will be based in Princeton, NJ.
