The supervisor will be responsible for preparing our ESG public disclosures in accordance with emerging regulations including those from the Securities and Exchange Commission.
This position provides program support to the department. This position manages components of programs and assists managers with program requests. The Sustainability Reporting Supervisor is responsible for the design and execution of an ESG approach and procedures in accordance with relevant auditing and assurance standards and the company’s methodology. This position develops, updates, and maintains programs, and materials to support specific program functional areas. This position will build data collection processes and documentation that align to all necessary global disclosure requirements. This position participates in programs both domestically and internationally and may supervise others in the department.
Responsibilities
Maintain a working knowledge of and research findings regarding regulatory changes, accounting literature, trends, measurement and technical issues relevant to ESG
Identify and communicate potential issues and opportunities for ESG efficiencies and process improvements
Build data collection processes and documentation that align to all necessary disclosure requirements, including compliance with emerging SEC regulations
Support the design and execution of an ESG approach and procedures in accordance with relevant auditing and assurance standards and the company’s methodology
Draft ESG disclosures, reports and questionnaire responses, design and manage review process with Legal and SEC Reporting departments
Supervise internal and external assurance and other reviews of ESG data and processes
Oversee employees (if appropriate), providing coaching and timely feedback
Preferences
Possesses working knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and auditing procedures
Minimum 1 year of current and/or recent audit experience in public accounting
Possesses recent experience in SEC reporting and SOX internal control requirements
Meets challenging requirements and possesses supervisory experience,
Displays strong communication, interpersonal, analytical and research skills
Eligible to sit for the CPA exam and must meet minimum educational requirements for the CPA licensure
Experience with ESG reporting (Sustainability Accounting Standards Board, GRI, Climate Disclosure Standards Board or Task Force on Climate related Financial Disclosures)
Advanced Excel and/or database skills (SQL or Access)
Willing to travel, as needed
