Profile

The Payroll Accountant will perform a variety of payroll processing and accounting activities. This is a great opportunity for an individual who seeks for continuous growth in the payroll area and learn other accounting functions.
Contract (temporary) position based in DC.
Pay up to $35/hr.
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 4 years of multi-state payroll experience, extensive ADP experience and a Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Business Administration. The candidate must have an outstanding level of detail, the ability to work in a fast-pace environment and excellent customer service skills.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and process bi-weekly payroll for nearly 85 exempt and non-exempt multi-state employees.
Perform all necessary activities to process payroll including but not limited to analyzing, preparing, and submitting payroll data in ADP.
Review, calculate and process weekly timesheets.
Setup state, local taxes and unemployment status in ADP.
Ensure state taxes are paid on time.
Complete bi-weekly 401K and FSA spreadsheets.
Create bi-weekly payroll journal entry.
Prepare weekly Cash Receipts entries and General Journal Entries.
Assist with reviewing of Employee Expense Reports as needed.
Prepare monthly invoices.
Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications:
Minimum 4-years of experience processing multi-state payroll.
Must have extensive ADP knowledge.
Working knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding payroll practices.
Must be detail oriented with excellent analytical skills.
Must be proficient with the Microsoft Office 365 suite and have strong excel skills.
Self-Starter with strong attention to detail, problem solving and trouble shooting.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
Excellent oral and written communication.
Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet multiple deadlines.
Excellent organizational skills required.
Must have a customer-centric and team attitude.
