Responsibilities
In this role, the Accounting Assistant performs clerical accounting and bookkeeping duties following established procedures. The position is responsible for verifying accuracy of data, maintaining, organizing and encoding information and data for the accounting/finance department and posting the data into the agency's accounting system software.
Daily posting of cash receipts/bank deposits.
Process payables.
Post receivables.
Verification and data entry.
Journal entries – monthly and as needed.
Preparing and processing reports – daily, monthly and period ending.
Reconciling vendor statements.
Processing of electronic payments.
Check scanning, filing and other clerical duties as needed.
Special projects as directed by the Managing Partner of the agency.
Qualifications
QuickBooks proficiency required.
Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and principals.
Skill in maintaining accounting or bookkeeping records.
Excellent oral and written skills.
Computer literacy, Microsoft Excel proficiency preferred.
Associates Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred, a Bachelor's Degree is a plus.
Minimum of two years of experience in a comparable role – or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
