ROLE: QUANTITATIVE RISK ANALYST

 

LOCATION: Hybrid working with a presence in 10 Molesworth Street

 

This role is being offered on a permanent basis.

 

Risk Data and MI supports the Risk Data Strategy for AIB's Risk Function. The key areas supported are the Change, MI, Data Quality and Governance agendas. The team is accountable for the provision of a fit for purpose data environment to support the maintenance of risk aggregated data for AIB group. Responsibilities also include supporting the integration of risk models to better support the business lines we operate in, analytical support for bank wide programmes that consume risk aggregated data and the implementation of standards within the Risk Operations and Delivery department and the wider Risk Function. This includes:

 

*The design, build and assurance of a fit for purpose datamart to support the risk model development activity, internal business intelligence and external regulatory reporting *Defining the standards and methodologies to assess the data quality of risk aggregated data across the group *Provision of services to support the extracting, transforming, and cleansing of data required for modelling *Structured data analysis and development of interactive business intelligence to capture key risk metrics across the Bank *Engaging with customer facing business lines to understand the technology and processes that support each business line *Engaging with regulatory bodies and internal 3rd line of defence teams as part of the on-going cycle of regulatory reviews. *Embedding data governance best practice and BCBS 239 principles throughout the Risk Function.

*Can utilise data analysis skills to produce reports and insights that inform consumers, including gathering requirements, developing a final product and presenting results and findings to consumers. *Can collaborate effectively with team members with different backgrounds and experience. *Can develop innovative and creative solutions to technical problems. *Can work independently, overcome obstacles and escalate when appropriate.

YOU WILL NEED TO SHOW US THAT YOU HAVE:

 

*A bachelor's degree in a quantitative analytical discipline (2.1 or higher), e.g. mathematics, applied mathematics, physics, statistics, engineering, econometrics.  (Confirmation will be sought if successful for the role.); *Have experience with SAS or SQL programming - experience in an alternate programming language would be considered (e.g. R, Python, Matlab); *Aptitude for extracting, transforming, and cleaning data for reporting or model development purposes. *Reasonable knowledge of European regulatory and/or accounting standards in respect of data quality and assurance governing at least one of IRB, IFRS9, BCBS239 standards *Candidates must be fully authorised to work in Ireland.
