Description
The Senior Finance Professional analyzes and forecasts financial, economic, and other data to provide accurate and timely information for strategic and operational decisions. The Senior Finance Professional work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. If you are located within 50-mile radius of the Humana Waterside office (101 E Main Street, Louisville, KY 40202) this role will resume as a hybrid of remote and in-office work once CDC restrictions have lifted.
Responsibilities
The Senior Finance Professional collects, compiles, verifies, and analyzes financial information and economic indicators so that senior management has accurate and timely information for making strategic and operational decisions. This individual analyzes the financial implications of proposed investments or other transactions so that senior managers can evaluate alternatives against the organization's business objectives. They will evaluate industry, economic, financial, and market trends to forecast the organization's short, medium, and long-term financial and competitive position. This role may involve financial modeling, reporting and budgeting as well. This individual will begin to influence the department's strategy, make decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction.
Duties and Responsibilities
Administer the monthly financial cycle by updating model calculations, drivers, and KPIs's with input from operational leaders
Update rate/volume variance reporting and review monthly program performance
Gather narratives and explanations for changes in operational trends
Summarize findings in a concise manner for leadership decision support and provide recommendation to improve operational performance.
Partner with system teams to improve reporting and data quality while expanding automated reporting capabilities
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or a business related field
Minimum 5 years of experience in finance/accounting
Comprehensive knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications
Ability to manage multiple priorities
Strong analytic skills with attention to details
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Work-At-Home Requirements
WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office (Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role). A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.
A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Business Administration or a related field
Experience in Access, SQL, and multi-dimensional databases
Experience developing and maintaining operational financial models
Collaboration and Coordination with cross functional teams to gather KPI inputs and report summarized findings to leadership
Previous health insurance industry experience
Experience with SAS or other relational databases
