We have a great opportunity for a commercially minded Senior Finance Business Partner to join the Finance team here in Manchester!
As our Senior Business Partner, you will be the key finance business counterpart to the Rubix UK Product Distribution business. Through personal involvement and close management of a team of 4, you will lead the Finance Business Partnering work across all areas of the P&L with a particular focus on Gross Margin drivers as well as SD&A costs.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for business performance reporting (e.g. sales tracking, margin breakdown, costs development vs sales growth, compensation plan development & measurement, etc) is accurate, relevant and produced efficiently. Using that reporting and further proactive analysis of the key drivers of performance you will then work with the commercial and operational teams to identify steps to continually improve business performance.
You will also be responsible for ensuring detailed and insightful input into the monthly financial reporting and will manage the budgeting and forecasting processes for the Product Distribution business.
This role plays a critical role and is a key part of our Finance management team, acting as a key partner to the CFO to instil a proactive, challenging and business focused Business Partnering mentality into the team.
Key Responsibilities
Business partner to Sales & Operations teams (typical interaction will be with Regional Sales Directors and COO select key reports) providing analysis, insight and challenge to drive global sales growth, operations performance and support wider commercial decision–making.
Key responsibilities include product sales analysis, ownership of product profitability models, support for strategic activities, KPI analysis and P&L management of Product Distribution business, including budgeting and forecasting of revenue and costs. Strong excel & sequel skills likely to be helpful in these areas.
Participate at monthly Operating & Performance Review with Senior Management Team (incl CEO/CFO) to facilitate business accountability and performance
Ad–hoc support with month end close tasks commentary around drivers of any variances to plan
Support the CFO & reporting teams in delivering robust monthly management accounts on a timely basis
Work with separate BI team to define and introduce additional reporting to support evolving business strategies and targets.
Manage direct team and follow the Rubix employment policies and procedures to actively support the development of the wider finance team through mentoring, coaching and training.
To support or lead other activities identified by the CFO including, but not limited to, systems implementation, investment appraisals, M&A, audit support and new product/segment reporting.
You will have the following experience:
Essential
Fully Qualified (ACA/CIMA/ACCA)
Experience of working with business units to deliver financial performance growth
Ability to interpret financials and provide meaningful insight to senior stakeholders
Reporting in data driven organisations
Good personal organisation and clerical skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written & verbal
Highly analytical and able to use Excel to advanced level, with high attention to detail
Exposure to/knowledge of Sequel
Ability to influence senior stakeholders
Self–starter and able to work independently
Able to work to tight deadlines and manage time effectively
Actively seeks opportunities for improvement – does not accept the status quo and brings new ideas and suggestions
Desirable:
Experience in managing people
Experience in a private equity backed environment
Experience in PowerPivot
