 This position contributes to the mission of CHI Health by ensuring medical and pharmacy benefits are accurately billed, as well as management of patient and physician Accounts Receivable
 
 Maintains appropriate documentation of outpatient pharmacy billing practices.  Maintains required records, reports and statistics for administrative, regulatory, and budgetary purposes.



Accounts Receivable processing, mailing, payment posting, documenting patient activity, and submission to collections when all other avenues are exhausted.

Researches patient insurance eligibility and benefit coverage.

Completes any necessary paperwork or prior authorizations required by third parties for claim approval by communicating with clinical and hospital staff.

Submits insurance claims manually and electronically to ensure timely submission and accurate payment.

Analyzes insurance remittances and pharmacy reports to ensure timely and accurate payments and complete any appeals.

Assists in answering questions from patients, pharmacy staff, other departments, and third party payers.

 Assists Senior Billing Specialist, managers, and directors with any other tasks and projects as required. 

Coordinates convenient medication delivery to offsite employees.

Maintains professional growth and development through seminars and workshops.

Participation in the development and implementation of pharmacy department policies and procedures
