The
W.A. Franke College of Forestry and Conservation
invites applications for an
Accounting Associate III
to join their team. The person assigned to this position processes the financial records for the W.A. Franke College of Forestry and Conservation and the Montana Forest and Conservation Experiment Station. This is done through data entry, payroll processing, grant monitoring, invoice and form processing, creation of detailed financial reports and reconciliation of State, Designated, Auxiliary and grant budgets. Financial guidance and support is also expected to be provided to the College, MFCES, University departments and others.
In order to fulfill these business needs, the following duties and responsibilities are assigned to this position:
Analyze and interpret accounting information and prepare financial statements and reports, providing informational guidance for the Dean, Department Chairs and Accounting Director
Accurately process hiring paperwork, time rosters, time cards, and graduate assistant contract
Monitor account and grant activity and reconcile accounts using Banner Finance and the W.A. Franke College of Forestry and Conservation’s in-house accounting programs
Interpret and coordinate financial information and data in order to assist Forestry faculty, staff, students, other University departments, various funding agencies, and vendors
Process necessary paperwork and transactions in an accurate and timely manner
Required Skills
Knowledge of state, federal and University guidelines and regulations concerning accounting and fiscal management
Knowledge of payroll processing
Strong attention to detail
a high level of accuracy
ability to perform financial work with minimal errors is especially important
Effective written and oral communication skills
Ability to interpret and coordinate financial information and data in order to aid Forestry faculty, staff, students, other University departments, various funding agencies, and vendors
Minimum Required Experience
High School diploma and three (3) years of relevant accounting or finance experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience to carry out the duties of the position
Preferred Qualifications
Associates degree in accounting
Knowledge of Banner finance
