Financial Analyst/Accounting As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions supporting our Insurance Risk Department in Bloomington, MN. ** Please note - the successful applicant must be based in Minnesota*** Your Impact as a Financial Analyst/Accounting Major Areas of Accountability: I. Review Commission Receivables on Accounts Receivable ReportReview accruals over thirty days that show they are unpaid and verify that there has not been a cash application error.Provide accurate supporting documentation to the Vice President – Finance & Accounting so the receivables can be written off before the close of month end.II. Develop Carrier Commission FormulasWork with the Vice President – Finance & Accounting to develop new and modify existing carrier commission formulas in Excel.Test the new and modified carrier commission formulas in HC Central to assure IT has programmed them to our specifications. III. New Insurance Policy Data Entry AuditRun New Policy Audit Report in HC Central to acquire listing of current policies in HC Central that need to be audited for data entry accuracy.Research each policy to confirm the appropriate critical information has been entered correctly for Finance & Accounting purposesEnsure that HC Central matches the actual policy issued and illustration provided to the participant (critical information will be different for each carrier and/or product)correct any incorrectly entered information and check the data entry audited box on the policy screen in HC Central once the data entry audit has been completed. IV. Mutual Fund TrackingUpdate spreadsheet to track mutual fund cash receipts for reforecast purposes. V. Enter Daily Commission Detail from CarriersAssure timely and accurate data entry of commission detail into HC Central, including application of base commissions to the appropriate commission receivable and bonus commissions to the proper revenue classification (First Year or Renewal). VI. Monitor Accounts Payable PaymentAssure accounts payable items are processed correctly by our corporate Accounts Payable department including the creation of necessary purchase orders Qualifications: EDUCATIONMinimum of a high school diploma and two years post secondary business education required, bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting preferred. EXPERIENCEMinimum of one year of experience in a business environment. Insurance carrier knowledge preferred. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND CRITICAL TRAITSMust be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook as well as internal systems such as HC Central, strong 10 key skills.Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.Ability to proactively take ownership and initiative to accomplish work assignments.Strong attention to detail with the ability to work with different personalities.Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
