Job Description:
Curry College is hiring a part-time Associate Lecturer to teach a Hyflex section of Personal Finance beginning on March 20, 2023. This spring semester course will conclude on May 13, 2023. The Hyflex delivery modality of this course consists of the faculty member being physically present on the Milton or Plymouth Campus with students having the ability to join each session either in person or virtually. This course meets weekly on Wednesdays from 5:30 p.m. to 10:15 p.m.
FIN 2820 - Personal Finance - 3 credits
An in-depth study of personal financial decisions, which the average person can expect to confront using the life-cycle approach. Emphasis throughout the course is given to applying theoretical knowledge to practical consumer-oriented problems in financial planning which must be addressed in an attempt to achieve a chosen life style. This course meets the General Education Wellness requirement. Prerequisite: Math Assessment.
Part-time faculty are responsible for planning and presenting the material assigned for their courses; establishing specific requirements and informing students of the requirements; grading examinations and projects; submitting grades and early alerts in a timely fashion; explaining grades to students; and utilizing Canvas as the learning management system. Part-time faculty are expected to be available to interact electronically with students outside the classroom as well as to hold requisite office hours.
Requirements:
A minimum of a Master's Degree in a relevant discipline is required for classroom teaching. A terminal degree in a relevant discipline is preferred for those teaching at the graduate level. Significant and relevant professional experience in a relevant discipline may be substituted for candidates who have earned degrees from disciplines not related to those offered by Curry College's School of Business and Computer Science. Prior teaching experience preferred.
