The role itself - Reporting to the CFO, the Controller oversees the daily operation of Northwest Center\u2019s accounting department, including tax and compliance operations and reporting. This critical leadership position will provide financial reports, cost analysis data, and meaningful recommendations to the rest of the Senior Leadership Team, along with the Board of Directors and Board Finance Committee. Development of financial and operational strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results. Drive the continual improvement and efficiency of finance processes in service to internal and external clients. Consolidate multi-divisional financial statements in accordance with the latest GAAP guidance. Prepare regular financial reporting packages, performance summaries, and ad hoc reports for Senior Leadership and the Board of Directors. Lead preparation and documentation of state, local, and federal tax returns. Work with auditors to ensure all entities comply with tax requirements and ensure accurate and timely completion of all local, state, and federal tax filings. Oversee and manage financial, payroll, 401K, federal & state tax audits, including management of independent and government auditors. Lead continuous process improvement over accounting operations by partnering with operations managers. Support tracking and reporting of operating metrics on divisional business operations. Other responsibilities and functions as appropriate to fulfill Northwest Center\u2019s mission. About You: This is a senior-level role for a motivated finance leader who brings a depth of capability and proven achievement through experience (10 years of hands-on, progressive accounting and managerial experience at the level of Assistant Controller). The ideal candidate has exceptional interpersonal skills, enjoys collaboration, and values working with a diverse team. Successful experience working in either a multi-company, multi-division, or multi-department environment.Prior experience working with several billing systems, including medical and federal contracting. Adept with the Microsoft Office Suite. MBA, CMA, CPA, or equivalent experience.
