Controller - North America Asset Management

The North America Asset Management Controller is responsible for all accounting operations on the behalf of our Asset Management customers with over 1,000 power plants in North America and $500M annual billing by 2015. He or She is accountable for the accuracy and timeliness of financial statements for purpose of US GAAP reporting on the behalf of asset owners.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee activities of the North Americas regional Asset Management Accounting team to ensure transactions are properly recorded and reported.
Manage the close process; develop a detailed schedule along with inputs/requirements from external customers in addition to strict timelines for completion.
Identify potential issues and work with cross functional teams to drive for resolution.
Active global team member for the Global Asset Management Group Project Accounting organization.
Provide data needed and other support to Asset Management teams and Customers' controllership organizations.
Ensure proper consolidation and management of external transactional resources.
Monthly/Quarterly required internal reporting for Corporate Controllership & other organizations.
Ensure all internal controls are timely performed for SOX compliance & general financial control.
Ensure preparation and audit of statutory financial statements and other compliance reporting both for SunEdison corporate and for Customers' Assets by working directly with the Technical Accounting Manager within the Global Asset Management Project Accounting Group.
Support data requests from Corporate and Asset owners for audits and various analyses.
Build a strong team with an efficient onboarding process for new resources worldwide.
Build repeatable and scalable processes and appropriate documentation.
Drive consistency of process worldwide for scalability and Customer reporting.
Reduce cost per transaction and stay within budget.
Support/Drive ERP implementation.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and CPA required
Minimum 8 years of experience with a record of increasing responsibility and advancement.
Solid understanding of US GAAP and exposure to foreign GAAPs
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree and/or CPA
Ten or more years of relevant work experience.
Experience as a second-tier manager.
Able to juggle multiple priorities within a faced paced dynamic environment.
Energy sector or solar energy experience in utility, commercial or residential/small commercial environment.
Experience managing distributed global teams and third party service providers
Some travel required
Experience working with Oracle a plus
