Accounting Manager

Profile

: Maintain the credibility and integrity of the Company’s general ledger by properly managing certain aspects of the general accounting function and internal controls. Support the Assistant Controller in providing financial analysis, planning, budget control, accounting and profit & loss reporting. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish the goals of the finance & accounting department. Performs a variety of tasks using a wide degree of creativity and latitude.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manages month end close

Manages preparation of monthly account reconciliations/bank reconciliations

Prepares monthly trend analysis

Prepares financial reports (monthly, quarterly, and annually)

Reviews, analyzes and interprets all financial and budget reports

Manages payroll

Supervises the Accounts Payable function

Performs cash management activities

Manages/maintains SOX documentation

Manages/maintains fixed assets

Supports the Assistant Controller with tax preparation and tax review activities

Manages external auditors and the quarterly review & annual audit of the financial statements for filing with the SEC

Prepares and files periodic government reports

Assists in the preparation of the Company’s Form 10-K and 10-Q

Performs ad-hoc analysis as required

REPORTING TO THIS POSITION ARE:

General Accounting

Accounts Payable

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Strong knowledge of general ledger, accounts payable, payroll, income tax and banking

Strong organizational/time management skills

Must be proficient with spreadsheets and other applicable software

Detail oriented

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Must be self-motivated

Excellent teamwork skills

Ability to interact with all levels within the organization

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

CPA certification a plus

5 years of hands-on accounting managerial experience

Experience working in a publicly traded company

Extensive knowledge of GAAP

Extensive ERP system knowledge; SAP is preferred

Experience with SOX requirements

Pay Range:

$115,000 - $125,000 annually
