Construction Accounting Manager - Malvern, Pa - $90-100k
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer
The construction accounting manager is responsible for overseeing the accounting functions related to the construction projects of the company. This position involves managing a team of accounting professionals, providing them with direction and guidance, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and contributing to the development of policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage and oversee the accounting operations related to construction projects, including job cost accounting, revenue recognition, cash management, and billing.
2. Ensure that accounting entries are accurate and timely, and comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and regulatory requirements.
3. Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures that promote efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with internal controls.
4. Maintain strong relationships with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure that accounting records are reflective of project activities.
5. Coordinate with the finance team to prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial reports related to construction projects.
6. Participate in the selection, deployment, and management of accounting software and systems used by the company.
7. Develop and train accounting staff to ensure they meet their objectives and maintain a high level of quality and integrity in their work.
8. Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure proper documentation and effective controls are in place.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA preferred.
2. 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years of experience in construction accounting.
3. Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and accounting systems and software.
4. Experience managing accounting teams and projects.
5. Ability to communicate effectively and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
6. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
7. CPA certification preferred.
8. Excellent time management and organizational skills.
9. Attention to detail and accuracy.
10. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
