Duties
SUMMARY
A major international law
firm is seeking a hands-on, self-motivated, detailed, analytical and organized
CPA/Accounting Manager to join their Finance team. Applicants must
have a strong internal control background with an understanding of operations,
management techniques and accounting principles.
This is a great opportunity
for a strong leader who has the ability to evaluate metrics to determine
areas of improvement as well as make recommendations and implement change.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide support to the CFO,
Controller and Assistant Controller and assist with developing and implementing
improvements in the firm’s accounting processes
Manage and develop the day-to-day
tasks and work quality of supervisors and staff within the Accounting Department;
provide coaching and constructive enhancements
Prepare, review and distribute
monthly financial reporting packages, special financial projects and ad
hoc reports.
Perform detailed financial research
on accounting issues escalated by department supervisors
Liaison with third party auditors
during the year end audits
Coordinate and review monthly
Balance Sheet Account reconciliation's; assess areas of risk or exposure
Periodically review Federal
and State tax filings including, use tax, property and quarterly and year
end income tax returns
Generation and implementation
of Policies and Procedures as they relate to operations, management and
accounting principles
Requirements
5 – 10 combined years of Big
Four and global law firm accounting experience
1 – 5 years management experience
Demonstrated experience mentoring
other on various accounting tasks including but not limited to payroll,
collections, accounts payable, cash receipts, cash applications etc.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
and CPA required
Advanced Excel (pivot tables,
macros, charting), Word, Power Point and Mainframe systems particularly
Great Plains and FRX reporting
